Who is Doris Morgado?

Doris Morgado is a Venezuelan actress known for her work in both film and TV series. She began her career in the late 2000s, making her debut in the short comedy film “Switch”. She has since gained recognition for her roles in projects such as “Logan”, “NCIS: New Orleans”, and “2 Guns”, and has also worked alongside a number of major Hollywood stars, including Mark Wahlberg, John Travolta, and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

Doris was born on 17 July 1981, in Caracas, Venezuela, but when she was five years old, she moved to Florida, USA with her family.

She attended Hialeah Senior High School, during which time she was involved in many extracurricular activities, as a member of their basketball team, and serving as the student body president. Her natural charisma didn’t go unnoticed by her peers, and Doris was elected the prom queen.

In 1999, Doris enrolled at Florida International University, where she studied Elementary Education. However, her true passion laid in acting, and she moved to Los Angeles, California in 2003, to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.

Doris made her movie debut in 2007, when she appeared in the short romantic comedy “Switch”, which starred Jerome Ro Brooks and Allen Earls as a dysfunctional young couple. In the following years, she appeared in comedies such as “Paper Boys” (2009), “4 Minutes” (2009), and “Peracher’s Kid” (2010). She also appeared in more dramatic roles in low-budget thrillers including “Love Thy Enemy” (2011), “Callous” (2011), and “Where is Primer Green?” (2012).

In 2013, Doris appeared in the hit comedy “The Internship”, directed by Shawn Levy, and which stars Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn as two salesmen who land a coveted internship at Google.

In the same year, Doris appeared in the action-comedy “2 Guns”, directed by Baltasar Kormákur. Doris’s role as Maria offered a compassionate and humanizing touch to the narrative, and is arguably one of the most high-profile roles in her career.

In the following years, Doris appeared in several short films such as “The Terms of Us” (2018), “The CNO” (2019), and “Aimee Victoria” (2021).

Through her career, Doris has earned several accolades for her work in independent cinema productions. In 2015, she won the Best Actress award at the Peachtree Village International Film Festival, for her performance in “Blackhats”.

In the same year, her performance in “Flight Fright” earned her a Golden Marquee Award for Outstanding Actress.

More recently, in 2020, Doris and her “The Terms of Us” co-stars won the Jury Award for Best Ensemble at the Los Angeles Film Awards. They were also nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble at the Official Latino Film and Arts Festival, but did not end up winning.
