Who is Djouliet Amara?

Canadian actress, dancer and social media personality Djouliet Amara was born under the zodiac sign Aquarius on 8 February 1995 in Russia. She has 14 acting credits and is perhaps known best for starring as Trina alongside Sammy Fourlas and Chris O’Dowd in all 10 episodes of the 2023 science fiction comedy “The Big Door Prize”, which follows a group of people who’ve found a magical machine capable of predicting the future in their small town of Deerfield.

Early life and education

Djouliet was raised in Winnipeg, Canada as she and her family moved there not long after she was born; she was raised by her Russian mother and Sierra Leonean father, and they chose to move to Canada because they wanted their daughter to grow up in a less racist environment. Because Djouliet’s yet to talk about having siblings, it’s widely believed that she has none.

She became interested in acting while attending a local high school in Winnipeg, appearing in various plays performed there; her parents supported her passion and often watched her act, but they were still able to convince her not to pursue a career in the film industry until she had completed her education.

Djouliet matriculated in 2013 and then enrolled at college, from which she graduated with a Bach roleselor of Arts degree in drama in 2018; she’s since moved to New York City in pursuit of acting.

Djouliet’s debut film role was playing Grace in the 2020 crime fantasy “Tales from the Hood 3”, starring alongside Frederick Allen and Patrick Abellard, while the film was written and directed by Rusty Cundieff and Darin Scott. It follows the scary adventures of Lynn Whitfield and Tony Todd and was nominated for a 2021 CAFTCAD Award for Best Costume Design in Film Contemporary.

Djouliet went on to play Ashley in the 2020 mystery thriller “Cheerleader Abduction”, which starred Sarah Constible, Kristen Harris and Jerni Stewart, and was directed by Michelle Quellet. It follows the best student at a local high school Olivia as she’s hiding her unplanned pregnancy.

In 2021, Djouliet portrayed Rosalind in the mystery horror thriller “Séance”, which starred Inanna Sarkis, Madisen Beaty and Suki Waterhouse, and was written and directed by Simon Barrett. It follows Camille who’s arrived at the Fairfield Academy right after one of its students suffered a violent death.

Also in 2021, she portrayed Tiana in the musical family comedy “Honey Girls”, which starred Aliyah Mastin, Ava Grace and Ashanti, and was directed by Trey Fanjoy. It follows the life of mega pop star Fancy G, and the film won three of its five award nominations.

Djouliet played Tess in the 2022 romantic comedy “Hello, Goodbye and Everything in Between”, which starred Ayo Edebiri, Talia Ryder and Jordan Fisher, and was directed by Michael Lewen; it follows Aidan and Claire who’ve been together for a couple of years but are now thinking about whether or not to break up as they’ve enrolled at different colleges.

Djouliet’s only other role has been playing Vivian in the 2023 comedy movie “Fitting In”, which won one of its four award nominations.

Roles in TV series

Djouliet’s debut TV series role was playing Key Dancer in two episodes of the 2021 drama “Querencia”, which starred Yogi Bear Galloway, Mary Galloway and Kaitlyn Yott, and follows the love lives of two indigenous queer women; the series won one of its four award nominations.

In 2021, Djouliet played Nancy Woods in the episode “Chapter Ninety-One: The Return of the Pussycats” of the crime mystery “Riverdale”, and the same year saw her portray Lulu in four episodes of the crime mystery comedy “Guilty Party”, which starred Tiya Sircar, Julies Latimer and Kate Beckinsale, and was created by Rebecca Addelman. It follows a discredited journalist as she’s covering the story of a young mother sentenced to spend the remainder of the her life behind bars for killing her husband, a crime which she claims she didn’t commit; the movie won two awards.

In 2022, Djouliet played Aubrey in two episodes of the action adventure “Superman & Lois”, as well as Corrine in four episodes of the drama “The Porter”, which starred Mouna Traore, Ronnie Rowe and Aml Ameen, and was created by Bruce Ramsay and Arnold Pinnock. It follows a group of American and Canadian railway workers who founded the world’s first Black union, and the series won 14 of its 30 award nominations.

Djouliet’s only other two TV series roles have been playing Tatiana Nelson in all four episodes of the 2022 horror mystery mini-series “Devil in Ohio” and Angie Brooks in the 2022 episode “Big Bang Theories” of the crime comedy “So Help Me Todd”.

Djouliet shies away from talking about her love life on the internet, and most of her fans believe that she’s yet to be in a long-term relationship.
