Who is Sadie Munroe?

American actress Sadie Munroe was born under the zodiac sign Aries on 22 March 2006, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She has 12 acting credits, and is perhaps known best for playing Alice Carlson in 57 episodes of the comedy series “Workin’ Moms”, which was created by Catherine Reitman back in 2017, and today also stars Catherine, Dani Kind and Philip Sternberg. The series follows the lives of several mothers in their 30s, and has won 12 of its 77 award nominations.

Sadie’s currently working on several upcoming projects, but the titles of these remain undisclosed.

Education and early life

Sadie’s being raised in Toronto alongside her young brother Shepherd and older brother Gage, by their mother Jane McIver and father Jeff Munroe; not many details have been revealed about Sadie’s family, but it’s known that Gage’s also an actor with 61 credits to his name, while he’s perhaps known best for playing Brady Mansell in the 2021 crime action movie “Nobody”.

Sadie became interested in acting mostly because she wanted to follow in her older brother’s footsteps, and she was eight when she made her debut TV series appearance, playing Faith in the 2014 episode “Things Which Have Never Yet Been Done” of the critically acclaimed science fiction thriller “Orphan Black”, which starred Jordan Gavaris, Dylan Bruce and Tatiana Maslany, and was created by Andrew De Angelis and Kim Coghill. It follows a streetwise hustler who’s just witnessed the suicide of a girl who highly resembles her, the series aired from 2013 through 2017, and won 69 of the 165 awards for which it was nominated. Sadie’s been active in the film industry ever since.

She’s still attending a local high school in Toronto, from which she should be matriculating in 2024; it’s widely believed that Sadie will then focus on her acting career and won’t be pursuing a college degree, but this hasn’t been addressed by her.

Roles in TV series

Sadie played Jane in the 2015 episode “Teacup” of the romantic fantasy comedy “Man Seeking Woman”, which starred Jay Baruchel, Eric Andre and Britt Lower, and was created by Simon Rich. It follows a naïve romantic who’s embarked on a desperate quest for love, the series aired from 2015 through 2017 and won one of its three award nominations.

In 2016, Sadie portrayed Spirit Little Girl in the episode “Goodbye Girl” of the fantasy “Saving Hope”, and the year 2019 saw her appear in an episode of both the fantasy mystery “American Gods” and the science fiction thriller “The Handmaid’s Tale”. In 2020, she played Lil in the episode “Children of Mars” of the short action “Star Trek: Short Treks”, and her only other TV series role has been portraying Lucy Wayne in 10 episodes (2022) of the family adventure “The Hardy Boys”, which starred Keana Lyn Bastidas, Alexander Elliot and Rohan Campbell, and was created by Chris Pozzebon and Jason Stone. It follows Fenton Hardy who’s come to Bridgeport with his two sons Joe and Frank to uncover the truth behind a recent tragedy, the series aired from 2020 through 2023 and won six of its 17 award nominations.

Roles in movies

Sadie’s debut film role was portraying Daughter on Plane in the 2015 short drama “AFK”, which starred Tyler Hynes, who also wrote and directed the movie; it aims to cover cyberspace and cyberwars.

In 2016, Sadie portrayed Kid in the drama “A Family Man”, which starred Gerard Butler, Gretchen Mol and Alison Brie, and was directed by Mark Williams. It follows a headhunter whose dream of owning his own company clashes with his family’s needs; the movie won a PAGE International Screenwriting Award for Best Drama Script.

The year 2017 saw her play Sophia Hill in the musical “The Meaning of Life”, which Cat Hostick wrote and directed, and which starred Joel Chico and John Boylan; it follows starving musician Finn who’s begun working at a local hospital as a therapeutic clown.

Sadie’s only other movie role has been playing Maddie in the 2018 romantic drama “Autumn Stables”, which starred Kevin McGarry and Cindy Busby, and was directed by Andrew Cymek; it follows Autumn whose husband’s just died, which has led her to sell their ranch to Jake.

Sadie was nominated for a 2016 The Joey Award for Young Actress in a TV Series, for her performance in “Man Seeking Woman”.

Love life and relationships

Sadie shies away from talking about her love life in public and is yet to mention any boys whom she’s maybe dated. Sadie hasn’t featured any boys in her Instagram pictures, however, some of her fans believe that she’s lesbian, and is today in a relationship with a girl whom she occasionally features in her internet content; Sadie’s yet to address these rumors.

There are also those who believe that the popular actress is currently focused on her career and isn’t pursuing love, but this hasn’t been confirmed either.
