Early life and education
Lauren was raised in Mineola alongside her older brother and older twin sisters, by their father who fought in Vietnam with the 173rd Air Brigade, and who died from cancer in 2007, and their mother who’s said to be an author, but about whom nothing’s really known.
Lauren became interested in journalism at a very early age, mostly because she often watched the news with her family at home.
She studied at Mineola High School, and was interested in a couple of activities during her four years there, including practicing gymnastics, acting with the school’s drama club, and playing multiple sports.
She matriculated in 1999, and then enrolled at Fordham University, from which she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication and media studies in 2003.
Career as a journalist
Prior to launching her career in the field of journalism, Lauren was employed at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and DreamWorks Pictures, as an event organizer and working in movie studio publicity.
She began working as the host of the global media and entertainment company Time Out Group’s show “On Demand” in 2008, while she also helped produce more than 100 video segments about lifestyle in New York City. In 2009, she was invited to host the official broadcast of the 52nd Annual New York Emmy Awards for NYCTV, which aired on 9 April.
She was then invited to host the NYCTV’s entertainment news show “City Scoop”, a job which she held for around half a year, quitting in January 2010; it was around that time that Lauren became a member of the New York Women in Film and Television.
She began working at NBCUniversal, Inc. in April 2010, and the following decade saw her work various jobs for the network, including being a traffic reporter for their show “Today in NY”, hosting the food and lifestyle segment of the show “New York Live” and hosting the segment “City Guide” of their show “Taxi TV”. Lauren could also have been seen hosting several shows on the NBC’s channel New York Nonstop, such as the show about the popular music in New York City “Nonstop Sound”, the reality competition show “The Great American Health Challenge”, and the show “Don’t Miss This”.
Lauren’s today working as the East Coast Entertainment Correspondent for the American premium cable and satellite TV network Epix.
Why did she leave NBC?

Some days she never stopped — like the time there was a crash near the Lincoln Tunnel after her shift was over, and she sent video and did play-by-play from her apartment window.’ He also shared that she was constantly in the studio during the coronavirus pandemic, and was amongst the few people who didn’t work from home.
