Milan Christopher is a native of Chicago, Illinois, who was born under the Aquarius zodiac sign on 28 February 1984, which makes him 39 years old as of 2023; he’s remained tight-lipped about his parents’ and siblings’ names. In the summer of 2008, Christopher relocated to Los Angeles, California, to begin his career in music going on to appear in numerous music videos for famous artists including Beyoncé. He also worked on an unedited version of Beyoncé’s song “Haunted”, and has disclosed that working with the legendary singer motivated him to launch his solo career; Christopher has also worked with The Game and Kanye West. Christopher began his acting career with the portrayal of Travis in the 2008 comedy-drama film “Friends & Lovers: The Ski Trip 2.” He went on to appear in several short films, including Limikkin Ranch” (2009) before he played Fanboy in the film, “The Evolution of Andrew Andrew” in 2012.

In 2015, Christopher was cast in the second season of the VH1 TV reality show “Love & Hip Hop, Hollywood,” which follows his life as a gay musician in a homophobic hip-hop music industry. In the season, he admits to having dated the gay rapper, Miles Brock, for over two years, which results in an altercation with Amber Laura, who had just broken up with Brock. In the second season’s reunion special, Milan and Miles dramatically break up when the latter accuses Milan of infidelity. The creators of “Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood” terminated Milan’s stint after his 14-episode stint for allegedly being uncooperative and difficult to work with, an allegation Milan has denied.

Milan appeared as one of the panelists representing the American hip-hop community in “Love & Hip Hop: Out in Hip Hop,” which chronicles the experiences of being an Afro-American and a member of the LGBTQ+ community in the hip-hop industry. He appeared alongside Miles.

In 2018, Christopher starred as Omari in 11 episodes of “About Him: A South African Love Letter” and shared the screen with Stephen Barrington, Nyaniso Dzedze, and Davien Harlis. Milan is bisexual, and was in a short-lived romantic affair with his “Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood” castmate and former member of the R&B group Marz Boiz, Miles Brock: the pair began dating in 2016 and they called it quits shortly afterwards. It’s rumored that Milan had a fling with The American actress and model, Moniece Slaughter, and there are also rumors that he dated the former NBA star, Magic Thompson’s son, EJ Thompson. Milan was spotted with the reality TV star at 2017’s 48th Gala Vanguard Awards festival, which took place at the LGBT Center, but the duo never confirmed nor denied their dating rumor.

Milan has revealed that he is the nephew of the retired record executive, songwriter and TV and film producer, Berry Gordy. According to him, one of his uncles named Clifford exchanged vows with Berry’s daughter, Sheri Gordy, in 2008. The actor has even gone by the stage name Milan Christopher Gordy.

Rumors and Controversies

Christopher’s coming out as gay made him the subject of criticism and controversy. In a January 2016 interview with “Forbes,” he revealed that he frequently received death threats from the community of Afro-American male rappers, who thought of him as a rap and hip-hop disgrace.

In May 2018, Christopher was involved in a leaked sex tape scandal that involved Akbar Abdul-Ahad (who was then married to the fashion designer, Sade) and his now ex-girlfriend, Teairra Mari. The tape was first leaked on Mari’s own Instagram account before it began making rounds on the internet. Many of “Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood” cast members, including Christopher, Akbar, and his close friend, 50 Cent were blamed for the leak, which resulted in a series of lawsuits against 50 Cent and Akbar, and even a few physical confrontations. Christopher witnessed one of the violent incidents, when Mari smashed the windows of Akbar’s car. He later recorded himself having a heated argument with Akbar. Both the dramatic incidents were recreated on camera in the fifth season of the TV reality show – Christopher was absent and had been replaced by RoccStar.
