Abraham was born in Omaha, Nebraska, but was raised in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She is the daughter of Michael Abraham, who is of Syrian and Italian descent, and Debra Danielsen, who is of Danish and Sicilian ancestry. Her parents divorced, but her mother remarried in 2017, so she now has a stepfather, Dr. David Merz. She also has a sister, named Ashley.

In 2010, Abraham’s mother was arrested and charged with assault after an altercation with her. The two had a physical fight that left her with multiple cuts to the right side of her mouth. She decided to call the police as a way of stepping up after years of enduring abuse from her.
In 2013, Abraham also faced arrest herself, suspected of driving under the influence. She pleaded guilty to avoid a jail term, and was sentenced to six months probation, a $500 fine, and six months of court-mandated sobriety tests.
