Early life
Louis Thomas Hardy was born on 8 April 2008 in the USA. His parents are English actor, screenwriter, and producer Edward Thomas “Tom” Hardy, born on 15 September 1977 in the Hammersmith district of London, England, and assistant director, production runner and casting assistant Rachael Speed, whose birth date and year are unconfirmed. They met in 2005 on the set of “The Virgin Queen” mini-series – Tom played Robert Dudley while Rachael served as the second assistant director. According to EthniCelebs, Louis is of English and Irish descent on his paternal side.

Tom Hardy is known for movie roles such as Eames in “Inception” in 2010, Bane in “The Dark Knight Rises” in 2012, and “Mad” Max Rockatansky in “Mad Max: Fury Road” in 2015. He also portrayed Alfie Solomons in the television series “Peaky Blinders” from 2014 to 2022 and James Keziah Delaney in the “Taboo” series in 2017, which he co-produced. In 2018, Tom starred as anti-hero Venom in the eponymous movie and reprised his role in “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” three years later.
Rachael was the third assistant director in television series such as “Silent Witness” from 2002 to 2004, mini-series such as “Canterbury Tales” in 2003, and the TV movie “Carrie’s War” in 2004. She was the second assistant director in the TV movie “Gunrush” in 2009.
According to Cosmopolitan, Louis lived with his mother in London as a child due to his father’s hectic filming schedule. However, Tom stated that he refused to move to the US then, even if that helped his career develop. He felt that spending ‘any free time away from Louis was criminal’, and vowed not to relocate until Louis was old enough to join him if he wished. He also said that having a child inspired him to ‘eradicate his selfish behavior, embrace responsibility, and become a better man.’
Family pet
Louis’ parents broke up in 2009, but his father started dating the actress Charlotte Riley that year after meeting her on the “Wuthering Heights” series set; they became engaged in the summer of 2010. Charlotte told Daily Mail UK in January 2013 that Louis is ‘the most amazing, creative, intelligent small human being she has met, and that she is honored to be his (future) stepmother.’

According to Goalcast, Louis ‘played a key role during the ceremony at which Tom married Charlotte in 2014.’ The couple wanted it to be about them, and only invited family and closest friends, which included Rachael, and hid the news about the wedding for about a month.
Charlotte told Daily Mail UK that she was scared of dogs, because one bit her when she was two years old. However, Tom adopted a puppy named Woody, short for Woodstock, while filming “Lawless” in 2011, and being around it and watching Louis ride him and play with him helped her overcome her fear. Woody passed away in June 2017, and the family then adopted a dog whom they named Blue.
Half-siblings
Charlotte also said in the 2013 interview that she wanted to have ‘lots of babies when the time is right.’ In October 2015, the couple welcomed a child whose name and gender are unknown, however, news outlets cited anonymous sources who claimed that Louis’ half-sibling is female. Tom told Esquire UK that ‘pictures of his children are a big no-no, so he would break the camera and beat the photographer up if he catches them.’ Charlotte revealed to The Telegraph UK that she ‘doesn’t want to keep people updated with her life, as she seeks privacy and anonymity for herself and her family.’ Thus, Louis has no publicly known social media accounts.
Additionally, neither his father nor stepmother responded when news circulated in January 2019 that the couple had a second child, Louis’ second half-sibling, who journalists argued was male. The Sun UK reported that he was named Forrest after the character in the “Forrest Gump” movie or potentially after Forrest Bondurant, his father’s character in “Lawless.”

Career
Louis had an uncredited appearance in a deleted scene of his father’s comedy-action movie “This Means War” in 2012. In his GQ interview from 2015, Tom stated that he played with Louis’s toys more often than his son. Thus, Tom sometimes took him to a toy store to choose new toys because he wanted to use them.
During Tom’s appearance at the 2018 Comic-Con and his interview with Entertainment Tonight, he stated that he wanted to star in a Marvel Comics film such as “Venom” so that his 10-year-old son could see him in a role that he enjoyed, stating that Venom was Louis’ favorite Marvel Comics character. Consequently, Tom admitted that he had to meet specific standards; his son supervised his acting, and never hesitated to point out what he felt were errors because he was ‘the anthology and mythology wizard and deeply honest.’ He claimed that Louis was pleased with the theatrical version.
Also in 2018, Charlotte told UK You Magazine that her perfect night involves ordering Italian takeout food, and staying home with Tom and their children to dance, listen to bands such as AC/DC, and singers such as Warren Zevon, or watch television.

Louis was mentioned in passing in August 2021 when Tom discussed with Esquire UK his family’s experience during the COVID-19 pandemic. His father stated that his priorities have shifted to staying at home as much as possible, and reducing his workload for the sake of his children. According to him, he provided the bare necessities, so he focused on making memories with them, and staying healthy and in good physical shape. Louis was seen in a few paparazzi shots during that period. In one photo set, he was captured walking beside his father during a shopping trip, wearing a camouflage hoodie and sweatpants.
His father’s body art
Louis’ name was also brought up in relation to his father’s tattoos. According to Body Art Guru, Tom tattooed the star on his left shoulder after hearing about Rachael’s pregnancy. Moreover, Tom has ‘Padre fiero’ tattooed on his left collarbone and ‘Figlio mio Bellissimo’ on his right biceps, Italian words that translate to ‘proud father’ and ‘my beautiful son,’ respectively. Furthermore, he has 848 near the depiction of Mary cradling baby Jesus on his right shoulder, a shortened form of Louis’ birth date. Finally, the letters ‘LH’ on Tom’s left biceps are part of his son’s initials.

In his Esquire UK interview from 2021, Tom stated that he helped homeschool Louis during the pandemic. He admitted that ‘homeschooling was difficult,’ which implied that Louis attended a public or private school, and that he’d temporarily switched to remote learning.

Louis has light brown hair, which sometimes appears blonde, and hazel eyes. He’s 5ft 6ins (1.67m) tall and weighs about 128lbs (58kgs), as of early 2024.
