Who is Tammy Collins?

American celebrity wife and former make-up artist Tammy Collins, was born in Fort Worth, Texas USA – the exact date of her birth remains undisclosed, but it’s widely believed that Tammy was born in either 1970 or 1971 but this remains unconfirmed. She’s perhaps only known for being the wife of famous American songwriter, gospel singer, rapper and choir director Kirk Dewayne Franklin.

Education and early life

Tammy was raised in Fort Worth by her mother and father who prefer to stay away from media, and about whom Tammy thus rarely speaks in public; it’s believed that her father was a preacher and her mother a homemaker, but this is yet to be addressed by Tammy. As she’s yet to talk about having siblings, most of her fans believe that she has none.

Tammy studied at a local high school in Fort Worth and became interested in various activities during her four years there; she took dance lessons, practiced creative writing and played various sports with her peers. Tammy matriculated aged 18 and it’s widely believed that she was also 18 when she became pregnant, and that this was one reason why she chose not to attend college.

It was in 1989 that Tammy gave birth to her daughter Carrington, but the name and profession of the girl’s father remain undisclosed. On 2 October 2016, Carrington married American equity accountant Maxx Nakwaash, and she gave birth to their child in 2020. Tammy’s husband Kirk also has a son Kerrion Franklin from a previous relationship, born in 1988.

Tammy and Kirk married in a small and private ceremony on 20 January 1996, and she gave birth to their son Kennedy Franklin in 1997, while their daughter Caziah Franklin followed in 2000.

There are no other men whom Tammy’s maybe been with, that we know about; she’s married to Kirk Franklin as of December 2023 and has two children with him, as well as another child from a previous relationship.

Tammy and her husband are both philanthropists; she’s mostly into helping single mothers struggling to raise their children.

Who is her husband Kirk Franklin?

Kirk Dewayne Franklin was born under the zodiac sign Aquarius on 26 January 1970 in Fort Worth. He’s perhaps known best for his career as a gospel singer, especially for having been the lead singer of ensembles such as One Nation Crew, God’s Property and The Family, amongst others; Kirk’s won numerous awards, which include 19 Grammys.

He was abandoned by his mother at birth, and was thus raised by his aunt Gertrude, who worked multiple jobs and paid for Kirk’s piano lessons by recycling aluminum cans. He was only seven when offered to sign his first contract, but Gertrude didn’t allow it; however, she did let Kirk join the church choir, and he was 11 when he became the music director of the Mt. Rose Baptist Church.

Kirk went on to attend Oscar Dean Wyatt High School, from which he matriculated in 1988; he then focused on music and didn’t attend college.

In 1993, at the age of 23, Kirk and his choir The Family released their debut album “Kirk Franklin & The Family”; it was a groundbreaking success, blending contemporary sounds with traditional gospel elements and earning widespread acclaim.
