Daphne Eurydice Zuniga was born on the 28th October 1962, in San Francisco, California USA, unusually of mixed Guatemalan, Polish and Finnish ancestry. She is an actress, probably best recognized for starring in the role of Princess Vespa in the comic sci-fi film “Spaceballs” (1987), playing Jo Reynolds in the Fox primetime soap opera “Melrose Place” (1992-1996) and featuring as Victoria Davis in The CW drama series “One Tree Hill” (2008-2012). Early Life and Family
Concerning her early life, Daphne Zuniga spent her childhood in San Francisco, California, where she was raised by her father, Joaquin Alberto Zuniga Mazariegos, an emeritus professor of philosophy at California State University, East Bay, and her mother, Agnes A. Zuniga, a Unitarian minister. She has two sisters, Rosario Zuniga and Jennifer Zuniga who is also an actress.
Regarding her education, Daphne became interested in acting very early, so she went to the Young Conservatory program at the American Conservatory Theater of San Francisco. Following her parents’ divorce, she moved with her mother to Reading, Vermont, where she attended Woodstock Union High School, but upon matriculation in 1980, Daphne returned to California to enroll at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), from which she graduated with a degree in Theater Arts in 1982. As a student, she shared her room with future Hollywood actress Meg Ryan.
Right after graduation, Daphne began pursuing her career as a professional actress by making her debut film appearance in the role of Debbie in John Carpenter’s horror film “The Dorm That Dripped Blood” (1982). After “One Tree Hill”, Daphne continued to line up successes; her next major role came in 2012, when she starred as Christina Riley in the family film “Changing Hearts”, followed by her portrayals of Rene in Tara Miele’s crime drama “Gone Missing” and Andrea Shmeckle in the Hallmark Channel romantic comedy “Signed, Sealed, Delivered”, both in 2013. In the next year, Daphne was cast as Olive in the family film “Monkey In The Middle”, after which she landed the role of Sophie in the 2015 musical “Summer Forever”, directed by Roman White.
