“El Vacio” (The Vacuum) was directed by Deborah S. Esquenazi, and centers around the life story of Karla Cornejo Villavicencio. Through a captivating confessional crafted from home videos and animation, Karla Cornejo Villavicencio delves into the mental confines and individual trauma spawned by immigration policy. As the name of the film suggests, the viewers get a second-hand experience of the feeling of “vacuum”, which results from living as an immigrant in the USA.

Directed by Jesse Moss, the short documentary film “Wolf’s Mouth” follows the story of Mario Guevara, a reporter, as he investigates how the ICE arrests have impacted his community in Atlanta.

In 2017, she was the production manager for the HBO crime mini-series “The Defiant Ones”, only having four episodes and was directed by Allen Hughes. It features famous musicians such as Stevie Nicks, Bono, and Ice Cube, and follows the relationship of Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre, examining their roles in the events that led to major changes in contemporary culture.
