Born Antoine Rizkallah Kanaan Filho on the 31st December 1973, in Salvador, Bahia Brazil, he is a racing driver, who has competed in a number of racing categories, including IndyCar Series, Champ Car, Formula Europe Boxer, and Italian Formula Three among others. Of Lebanese ancestry, Kanaan is the son of Miriam and Antoine Rizkallah Kanaan. His father sadly passed away when Tony was in his teens, while his uncle managed to steal away the family business and money and Tony spent his teenage years in poverty, working to provide for himself and mother. He pursued his dreams of car racing, and made his professional debut in 1994 with the Formula Europa Boxer series, and since then has competed in the US, and became the IndyCar Series champion in 1999, while in 2004 he was the Indianapolis 500 winner, among many other achievements.
