Age, Early Life, and Education Background
Cam Wilder hails from the USA, born under the Libra zodiac sign on 5 October 2000, which makes him 23 years old as of 2023. In an interview with “The Sporting News,” he stated ‘I didn’t know too much about TikTok, and my roommates were like, “Yo, you should start doing TikTok, you’re kind of funny” – I only knew TikTok is like a kid’s app.’ Wilder began uploading comedic videos, which attracted hundreds of thousands of views. Currently, Wilder has garnered over 5.5 million followers on TikTok, has at least 177 million likes, with one of his most liked a comedy skit about the American rapper 6ix9ine, which was posted in July 2020. He previously posted a short video about accompanying his mother to the store, which also went viral.

Basketball and Rod Wave Elite (RWE)
Cam is the founder of the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) – also referred to as travel basketball or club basketball – team, Rod Wave Elite (RWE). He named the team after his best-loved American singer-songwriter and rapper, Rod Wave. RWE is not as ‘serious’ as the National Basketball Association (NBA) teams and other leagues. Instead, it’s an entertainment style of basketball founded to create videos for social media platforms such as YouTube. Wilder hosted his first RWE tryout in Houston, Texas, and surprisingly attracted thousands of players, which saw him take the internet by storm. Following this success, Wilder began touring other cities such as Los Angeles and New York City to select new RWE players. In early September 2023, he invited his fans for a meet-and-greet, and a crowd of over 3,000 young adults and teenagers swarmed San Antonio’s Lady Bird Johnson Park to meet him. However, the crowd was dispersed by the San Antonio Police Department, who pointed out that although the crowd wasn’t violent, its size posed an ‘imminent threat to public safety.’ Nobody was arrested during the incident.
