What is Gabrielle Echols doing now? Her Age, Movies, Net Worth

Gabrielle Echols

Actress Gabrielle Echols was born on 17th March 2005, in the USA; she’s best-known for playing Bridget in the spine-chilling 2023 horror movie “Evil Dead Rise”. Despite having just two acting credits to her name, the brunette has accumulated a small and loyal fanbase thanks to her relatable personality.

Gabrielle’s parents are named Timothy and Maki, and she has a younger brother. However, no recent pictures of her family members appear on the actress’s social media, so we can assume that they prefer to avoid the spotlight.

Although Timothy’s Instagram has just two photos and under 40 followers, Maki is fairly active on the platform, and has posted plenty of snaps of her daughter, through which we’ve discovered that Gabrielle used to study ballet, and has been interested in acting for quite some time.

Career

Gabrielle’s acting debut was in the Hugh Jackman-led sci-fi mystery movie “Reminiscence”, which premiered on HBO Max, and had a limited theatrical release in 2021. The brunette’s character, Titch, appeared in just one scene, and was understandably eclipsed by the top cast members such as Rebecca Ferguson and Thandie Newton; however, the greater mystery is how Gabrielle happened to enter the entertainment industry in the first place.

When asked about the casting process for the project, Gabrielle vaguely replied: ‘It was pretty standard, it was like everything else… I got the email, I got the appointment.’ It’s been rumored that the actress – who previously went viral for her resemblance to a younger Selena Gomez – has secret showbiz connections, but there’s no proof to back up these claims.

Conspiracy theories aside, the truth is much simpler: Gabrielle signed to talent agency The X Division sometime in 2018 or 2019, and began auditioning for roles with help from her agents, which is the standard procedure. Stephen Harmon, the agency’s founder and talent manager, posted a photo of himself with the brunette and another of his clients in October 2019, describing them both as ‘incredible talents’, and writing ‘Last night I had dinner with two of our incredible actors in Atlanta. Gabrielle is 14 years old and just booked a role in a massive movie we can’t talk about yet’.

A standard filming day for Gabrielle involves being picked up by her driver, arriving to the set, and having some breakfast before shooting scenes. The brunette likes to keep her routine simple, and reportedly ate the same thing every single day while working on “Evil Dead Rise” – two toasts with avocado and poached eggs on top.

Keeping in mind that filming for “Evil Dead Rise” began in June 2021, Gabrielle was just 16 years old when she brought Bridget to life. Despite her character being possessed by ancient demons and going through unspeakable horrors, the actress was pretty upbeat about the whole thing, and described it as ‘great fun’ during a Zoom conversation with Geek Network.

To get into character before shooting, Gabrielle would also listen to music and even talk to herself as a way to feel more centered. The actress is open about her experiences with maladaptive daydreaming, a condition wherein one disassociates from reality and acts out what’s happening in their daydreams, but claims that it doesn’t interfere with her work.

Gabrielle has yet to announce any upcoming projects since “Evil Dead Rise”, but her stellar performance as Bridget has led to comparisons to Jenna Ortega, who is known for her excellent repertoire of horror projects (“Scream” franchise, “The Babysitter”, “Studio 666”). Like Jenna, Gabrielle is a self-confessed horror buff, and previously posted a throwback photo of herself dressed up as a young Wednesday Addams for Halloween when she was a child, so it’s possible that we’ll be seeing her in a similar role in the future.

For those curious to know Gabrielle’s net worth, it reportedly lies at over $100,000, with “Evil Dead Rise” being the brunette’s highest-paying project no exact figures are available.

“Evil Dead Rise”

With the cheesy tagline ‘Mommy loves you to death’ and a relatively small budget of $15 million, no one expected “Evil Dead Rise” to become the most successful installment in the “Evil Dead” movie franchise. The supernatural horror film, which was written and directed by Lee Cronin, follows two estranged sisters (played by Alyssa Sutherland and Lily Sullivan) desperately trying to survive and save their family from deadites (parasitic demonic spirits who possess humans and other living creatures while feeding on their souls).

Prior to developing “Evil Dead Rise”, there were plans for a direct sequel to the 2013 movie “Evil Dead” which ultimately went nowhere. In October 2019, franchise creator Sam Raimi announced that a standalone entry was in the works but preferred not to give away too many details. Most of the filming took place in New Zealand from June to October 2021; despite being slated to premiere on HBO max, Warner Bros. Pictures decided to pick up the film for a theatrical release after positive test screenings.

Apart from being nominated for Best Make-Up and Best Horror Film at the 51st Saturn Awards, “Evil Dead Rise” grossed over $147 million worldwide, and became one of the most-talked about horror movies of the year.

Co-Stars

Gabrielle’s on-screen siblings Danny and Kassie were played by Morgan Davies and Nell Fisher respectively. Morgan, having been active in the entertainment industry since 2008, is something of a showbiz vet, whereas “Evil Dead Rise” marked Nell’s film debut. However, the movie helped both young actors inch closer towards mainstream recognition.

Morgan was born in Australia in 2001, and was raised by his single mother in the tranquil suburbs of Sydney. The actor is open about his many struggles, which range from stage fright and depression to gender dysphoria. In a case of life imitating art, Morgan starred as a trans teen in the process of gender transition in the 2020 series “The End”, which is more or less the same time he himself transitioned from a biological female to a male.

Apart from advocating for trans and LGBT+ rights, Morgan recently starred as Koby in “One Piece”, a fantasy series which premiered on Netflix in summer 2023 to positive reviews. Meanwhile, Nell’s also keeping herself busy and appeared in the feel-good romcom “Choose Love”, starring Laura Marano among other rising talents.
