Tom Pelphrey was born on 28 July 1982, in Howell, New Jersey, USA, and is an actor, best known from being a part of television series such as “As the World Turns” and “Guiding Light”, in which he played the character Jonathan Randal. After his run with the soap opera, he then signed a contract to another popular soap entitled “As the World Turns”, in which he played the character Mick Dante from 2009 in the sister show to “Guiding Light”, and which has recorded the third longest continuous run of any daytime network soap opera on American television. He earned an Emmy pre-nomination for his role, and stayed tin it for a year until his character was imprisoned for his misdeeds, officially ending his run with the show.

He then continued his work on television, starring in a production of “In God’s Hat” which was held at the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre. He also began appearing in guest roles in popular shows such as “Numb3rs”, “Ghost Whisperer”, and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”. In 2012, he appeared in the Broadway cast of “End of the Rainbow” playing Mickey Deans, and also worked on a Broadway revival of “Fool for Love”, in which he appeared as Martin.

Latest Projects – Banshee and Iron Fist

In 2015, Tom got a recurring role in the Cinemax television series entitled “Banshee” in which he portrayed the former neo-Nazi Kurt Bunker who is trying to reintegrate into society. The show is set in the small town of Banshee in Pennsylvania’s Amish country, and the main character is an ex-con who assumes the identity of the town’s murdered sheriff, to hide from a powerful crime lord. During this time, he tries to reconcile with a former lover who is the daughter of the crime lord after him. He struggles to maintain his new identity, while still conflicted with the crimes he was involved with in the past.

Two years later, he began working on the show “Iron Fist”, based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. , and set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), sharing a continuity with MCU Marvel films. The show was created as a fourth series which eventually led to the mini-series crossover entitled “The Defenders”. He appeared in the show alongside Jessica Henwick, Finn Jones, and Jessica Stroup; the first season received generally negative reviews, but had a strong viewership, and the second season was released to a more positive reception, but was eventually cancelled in 2018.

Personal Life

For his personal life, it is known that Pelphrey has never married, though he has been romantically involved with several high profile names  – he was in a relationship with actress Gina Tognoni in 2005 which lasted for nine months. She is also known for her role in various daytime soap operas such as “One Life to Live”, “Guiding Light”, and “The Young and the Restless”. They were reportedly very close, and it came as a surprise to fans when both of them decided to end the relationship.

In 2016, he confirmed through a social media post that he was dating “Banshee” co-star Lili Simmons. Aside from her role in the show she has also appeared in other popular shows as a guest and has also done modelling work; however the relationship was short-lived. His social media accounts recently confirmed through photos that he is in a relationship with actress Jaimie Alexander, who is known for portraying the character Sif in the film “Thor”, along with its 2013 sequel.
