Wave Set Wiki: Age, Name Meaning, Childhood, Siblings

Wave Set was born on 4 September 2021 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Of African-American ethnicity, his name sparked curiosity among fans regarding its origin and meaning. According to a report by TMZ, the name was proposed by Offset. When they discovered they were expecting a boy, both parents brainstormed names, and when Offset – birth name Kiari Kendrell Cephus – suggested the name Wave, Cardi B agreed.

Originally considering the name Marley for the middle name, inspired by Cardi’s middle name, Marlenis, the couple ultimately decided against it. Reportedly, Cardi wasn’t fond of the combination Wave Marley Cephus. When the baby arrived, they opted for Set for the middle name, drawing from Offset’s own name. His friends also commonly refer to him as Set.

Wave has an older sister, Kulture Kiari Cephus, born on 10 July 2018. Moreover, Wave has three older half-siblings, from his father’s past relationships. His oldest half-brother Jordan Cephus was born in 2009, and his mother is Justine Watson. Then in 2015, Offset and Oriel Jamie welcomed Kody Cephys. The same year, he became the father of a daughter Kalea Marie Cephus, born to Shya L’Amour. In 2019, Offset released the album “Father of 4” – all his children were featured in the cover art of the album.

Wave is showered with love and luxury from a young age. In a recent Instagram post, Wave is seen playing with a number of $100 bills.

Cardi B and Offset Relationship Timeline

Cardi B and Offset’s relationship began to capture public attention when they were seen together at the 2017 Super Bowl. Offset later revealed in a Rolling Stone article that their first official date was arranged through his publicist.

They starred in the music video for “Lick”, their first collaboration, and Cardi publicly acknowledged their relationship in June 2017 during an interview with Fader. Offset proposed to Cardi B with a 20-carat diamond ring, on stage at a concert in October 2017. This was a staged proposition, since the couple had already secretly married in the previous month, only revealed by Offset at the 2018 BET Awards.

However, in December 2018, Cardi B announced their break-up in an Instagram video, citing that they had “grown out of love”. Despite the separation, they appeared to be back together in February 2019, attending events and the Grammys together.

The couple faced challenges, including allegations of Offset’s infidelity with leaked videos. Cardi addressed the issue in her song “Be Careful”, and the couple sought help from priests and prayer to overcome the cheating scandal.

Cardi B filed for divorce in September 2020 but dismissed the action in November, as they reconciled.

In recent events, Offset accused Cardi B of cheating, but the couple is still together, at least appearing at various red carpet-events.
