Who is Aislinn Derbez?
Aislinn Gonzalez Michel was born in Mexico City on 18 March 1987 – her zodiac sign is Pisces, and she holds Mexican nationality. She’s an actress, film producer and music composer, who has appeared in close to 50 movies and TV series, while she’s probably known best for her portrayal of the main character Nastenka in the 2015 romantic drama “Estar o no Estar”. It was written and directed by Marcelo Gonzalez, also starred Flavio Medina and Patricia Reyes Spindola, and follows August who’s terminally ill, and has because of it contacted his former love; the movie won two of the eight awards for which it was nominated.
Early life and education
Aislinn was raised in Mexico City alongside her five half-siblings, by her father Eugenio Derbez, who’s a famous Mexican actor and comedian, and their mother Gabriel Michel, who’s a Mexican actress.
Aislinn grew up dreaming of becoming a famous model, and it was perhaps because of this that she was physically highly active while growing up, playing various sports with her peers, believing that she would shape her figure this way and have it ready for when it’s time to start modelling. She was 15 when she signed her first modelling contract, while she also practiced acting with her high school’s drama club, appearing in plays performed both at the school and a local theatre.
Upon matriculating in 2005, Aislinn enrolled at New York City’s School of Visual Arts, then transferred to Actors Studio, from which she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 2009.
Roles in movies
Aislinn made her debut film appearance in the 2008 short thriller “Served Cold”, while a couple of her following roles were in the historical war drama “The Attempt Dossier” and the family action comedy “Te Presento a Laura” both in 2010, and the 2012 romantic drama “El Cielo en tu Mirada”.
She portrayed the lead character Norma in the 2012 drama “Abolicion de la Propiedad”, written and directed by Jesus Magana Vazquez, and which also starred Humberto Busto. It follows a woman who keeps hearing a strange noise from her basement, which stops when she goes to walk down there; the movie won a Guadalajara International Film Festival Mayahuel Award for Best Screenplay. Aislinn then starred as Pia in the 2013 comedy drama “Sobre Ella”, and played the main character Penelope in the 2013 romantic comedy “Little Baby Jesus”.
In 2014, she was cast to star as Maria Laura ‘Mala’ Medina in the comedy “A la Mala”, directed by Pitipol Ybarra, and which also starred Mauricio Ochmann and Aurora Papile. The movie follows Maria who has found a new job: she’s hired by women to try and seduce their boyfriends and husbands, and it won one of the 11 awards for which it was nominated.
Some of Aislinn’s following notable performances were in the 2016 action adventure comedy “Que Pena Tu Vida”, the comedy “Win It All” and the comedy drama “Do It Like An Hombre” both in 2017.
Most recently, in 2021 she voiced Legs in the critically acclaimed animated adventure comedy “Back to the Outback”, written and directed by Harry Cripps, and which starred Eric Bana, Tim Minchin and Miranda Tapsell. It follows a group of deadly animals who are plotting to escape from an Australian zoo; the movie won a ReFrame Stamp for Narrative & Animated Feature.
Aislinn’s currently shooting for three upcoming movies: the comedy “Me Vuelves Loca”, another comedy “Acerca del Tiempo”, and the romantic crime comedy “Mexiwood”.
Roles in TV series
Aislinn made her debut TV series appearance in the 2009 comedy “The Disorderly Maids of the Neighborhood”, and gained recognition in 2010 when cast to play Brenda in the drama “Ninas Mal”. It starred Isabel Burr, Carmen Aub and Jessica Sanjuan, and follows three rebellious girls who have been sent to study abroad by their parents.
A couple of Aislinn’s following roles were in the 2010 episode “Marta, Manipuladora” of the crime drama “Mujeres Asesinas”, six episodes of the 2012 romantic musical comedy “Los Heroes del Norte” and the 2013 episode “Tres Bellas Jovencitas, en Tres Diferentes Lugares” of the crime drama “La Promesa”.
She then portrayed Giovanna in the romantic drama “Gossip Girl: Acapulco”, created by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, and which starred Sofia Sisniega, Oka Giner and Diego Amozurrutia. The series follows the lives of several teenagers from Acapulco.
Two of Aislinn’s most recent roles in TV series have been in eight episodes of the 2018 animated action adventure “Seis Manos” (voice role), and 32 episodes of the comedy drama “The House of Flowers” between 2018 and 2020.

Love life and marriage with Mauricio Ochmann
Aislinn prefers to keep the details of her love life to herself, but has still allowed her fans to have a glimpse into it.
She met the famous Mexican actor Mauricio Ochmann in 2014 while they were shooting for the movie “A la Mala”, and they married in 2016 in a private ceremony attended by many of their friends and family members. Aislinn gave birth to their daughter Kailani Ochmann on 27 February 2018, and she and Mauricio have since been keeping Kailani away from the media’s attention.
However, Aislinn and Mauricio divorced in 2020 for unknown reasons, but there are rumors circulating the internet claiming that the reason behind it was Mauricio’s unfaithfulness – this hasn’t been confirmed.
Aislinn hasn’t spoken of any other men whom she has perhaps been with, so as of March 2022, she seems to be single, was married to Mauricio Ochmann, and has a daughter with him.

Aislinn’s an Instagram star, as she’s today followed by more than 11 million people, and has uploaded close to 1,500 pictures onto the network, most of which have been taken during her everyday life.
She’s physically highly active, mostly because it’s important for her acting career to stay in shape; Aislinn has multiple training sessions at the gym every week, and follows a strict diet.
Her favorite season is summer, as she enjoys sun tanning at the beach, playing beach volleyball and going yachting.
Aislinn’s into travelling, and has been to a couple of US states and European countries for both work and pleasure; her dream travel destination is Paris, France.
