Born Alan Michael Ritchson on the 28th November 1984 in Grand Forks, North Dakota USA, of English, German and Czech descent. he is the second of three sons of David Ritchson, a retired US Air Force chief master sergeant, and Vickie, a high school teacher. When Alan was still young, his family moved to Rantoul, Illinois before settling in Niceville, Florida, where he went to Niceville High School, matriculating in 2001. Between 1999 and 2003, Ritchson also attended the Okaloosa Walton Community College (now Northwest Florida State College) and graduated with an Associate Arts degree, and was a member of the Madrigal Singers and Fine Arts division’s Soundsations.
