Who is Chrissy Metz?

Christine Michelle Metz was born on 29 September 1980, in Homestead, Florida, USA, and is an actress as well as a singer, probably best known for starring in the NBC series “This Is Us” as the character Kate Pearson. Despite working full seasons with “This Is Us”, Chrissy continued to do other acting projects. In 2018, she was cast in the film “Sierra Burgess Is a Loser”, which is a comedy film re-telling the “Cyrano de Bergerac” play, stars Shannon Purser and aired on Netflix. She also appeared as a guest in “The Last O.G.”. During the same year, it was announced that she would star in the film “Breakthrough”, which produced by DeVon Franklin, is based on a true story of Joyce Smith and how her 14-year old boy fell through an icy Missouri lake, later proclaimed dead, but was miraculously saved and revived, the story later re-told through a book Smith wrote. The film is currently in post-production and is set to be released in 2019.

Aside from acting, she’s also involved in various musical endeavors, and is the singer in her own band called Chrissy and the Vapors. She also continues to hone her acting craft, and is known to work with acting coach John Kirby. She’s been noted for her public weight loss journey and has been very vocal with regards to her progress.

Personal Life

For her personal life, it is known that Metz married British journalist Martyn Eaden in 2008, in Santa Barbara, California in a court house ceremony, but separated five years later, and in 2014, he filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences, which was finalized in 2015. She later dated cameraman Josh Stancil whom she worked with for a while; according to her, they broke up after he left for another show, leading their relationship to drift apart.
