Jon-Michael William Ecker was born in San Marcos, Texas USA, on 16 March 1983 – his zodiac sign is Pisces, and he holds both Mexican and American nationality. He’s an actor who has appeared in more than 20 movies and TV series, perhaps known best for his portrayal of El Guero in the popular action crime series “Queen of the South”. It was created by M. A. Fortin and Joshua John Miller, starred Alice Braga, Hemky Madera and Peter Gadiot, and follows Teresa who has moved away from Mexico now that her boyfriend has been killed, and is planning to become the wealthiest drug smuggler in Dallas; the series aired from 2016 to 2021, and won three of the 22 awards for which it was nominated.

Early life, family and education

Jon-Michael was raised in San Marcos alongside his three half-siblings, by their Brazilian father Guy Ecker who’s a popular actor, and his American mother who prefers to stay away from media.

Jon-Michael became interested in acting at a quite an early age, mostly because he looked up to his father, who also occasionally took Jon-Michael with him while he was shooting for his movies and TV series. However, Guy still urged his son to focus on his education, and to pursue acting only after he had graduated from college.

Jon-Michael studied at a local high school, and was interested in various activities during his four years there, including playing soccer for the school’s team, practicing acting with the school’s drama club, and dancing.

Jon-Michael made his debut TV series appearance in the 2010 drama “Nina de mi Corazon”, while the following year saw him appear in both the action drama “El Equpo”, and the romantic drama “The Power of Destiny”.

Jon-Michael gained some recognition when cast to star as Ari Morales in the 2011 romantic drama “Popland!”, then in 2012 and 2013, he played the main character Pablo Peralta in the action crime drama “Fearless Heart”. The series also starred Jose Luis Resendez and Ayling Mujica, and follows the friendship between two girls living in Valle de Bravo, Mexico; it won an ASCAP Film and Television Music Award for Top Television Series.
