Zoey’s being raised in California as an only child by her mother Denise; her parents were in an on-and-off relationship when she was born, and they eventually broke up for good. Zoey’s father is still highly involved in her upbringing, and spends most of his spare time with her, while he also helps out financially.

He’s perhaps known best for his career in the National Basketball Association (NBA); Lonzo’s currently playing for the Chicago Bulls, while he previously played college basketball at the University of California, Los Angeles.

He was raised in Anaheim alongside his younger brothers LaMelo and LiAngelo, both of whom are today also professional basketball players, with LaMelo playing in the NBA for the Charlotte Hornets. Their father LaVar Christopher Ball’s a successful businessman, perhaps known best for being a co-founder and CEO of Big Baller Brand, a sports apparel company, and their mother Tina Ball’s a housewife.

Lonzo was only two years old when he started playing basketball, looking-up to LeBron James while growing up. He studied at Chino Hills High School, and averaged 25 points, 9.1 assists and 11 rebounds as a junior; during Lonzo’s senior year, he led his team to a 35-0 record and a state title as the Chino Hills Huskies ranked #1 in the nation. Lonzo was on the same team with his brothers but he was the one credited with the wins and thus earned various national honors, such as Mr. Basketball USA, USA Today Boys Basketball Player of the Year, and Morgan Wootten National Player of the Year.

By the end of his high school career, Lonzo was rated fourth best overall recruit and chose to enroll at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) on a basketball scholarship.

Lonzo played for the UCLA Bruins during the 2016-2017 NCAA season; his impact became evident as soon as his first a couple of games as he quickly established himself as one of the most exciting and best players in college basketball.

One of the best games during Lonzo’s college career was on 10 December 2016, when the Bruins faced off against the University of Kentucky Wildcats; in this highly anticipated matchup between two college basketball powerhouses, Lonzo delivered an amazing performance, recording 14 points, seven assists and six rebounds to lead the Bruins to an impressive 97-92 victory.

Another memorable game was on 25 February 2017, when the Bruins clashed with the University of Arizona’s team; in this crucial Pac-12 showdown, Lonzo recorded 11 points, eight assists and six rebounds in a 77-72 victory for the Bruins.

Following an impressive freshman career at UCLA, Lonzo made himself eligible for the 2017 NBA Draft, meaning that he dropped out of college in pursuit of a professional basketball career; he was selected as the second overall pick by the Los Angeles Lakers.

Lonzo made his NBA debut on 19 October 2017 against the Los Angeles Clippers; despite the pressure, he showcased flashes of his potential, finishing with three points, nine rebounds and four assists in a 108-92 loss to the Clippers.

One of Lonzo’s most memorable performances in his rookie season was on 11 November 2017, when the Lakers faced the Milwaukee Bucks. In this thrilling contest, Lonzo scored his first career triple-double, recording 19 points, 12 rebounds, and 13 assists to lead the Lakers to a 98-90 victory over the Bucks. Despite these mentioned flashes of brilliance, Lonzo’s rookie season was also plagued by injuries.

During his second season with the Lakers, Lonzo continued to showcase his potential as a dynamic playmaker and defensive stalwart, however, his tenure with the Lakers was cut short when he was traded to the New Orleans Pelicans as part of the Anthony Davis blockbuster deal in the summer of 2019.

One of Lonzo’s best games in a Pelicans’ uniform was on 22 January 2020 against the San Antonio Spurs; in this memorable contest, Lonzo scored a career-high 24 points, including a franchise-record seven three-pointers, to lead the Pelicans to a 121-117 victory over the Spurs. He scored a new career-high eight three pointers in a win against the Minnesota Timberwolves on 1 May 2021.

Lonzo was traded to the Chicago Bulls on 8 August 2021, signing a four-year $85 million contract, making his debut on 20 October in a win against the Detroit Pistons. His first triple-double with the Bulls was ironically a win against the New Orleans Pelicans on 22 October; in January 2022, Lonzo suffered a meniscus tear, and had to miss three games as to undergo knee surgery, then rest for nearly two months.

He skipped the entire 2022-2023 season due to his knee injury and underwent a cartilage transplant on 16 March 2023; it was revealed in June 2023 that Lonzo wasn’t expected to play at all in the 2023-2024 season, but that he would be ready to start running again in January 2024.
