The Naked Truth about Ashley Ortega: Age, Height, Boyfriend

Ashley Ortega

The talented young actress Ashley Ortega was born on 26th December 1998 in San Fernando, La Union, Philippines, and has been active in the entertainment industry for over a decade.

Ashleigh Marguerretthe Krystalle Nordstrom Samson is of Filipino-German descent on her mother’s side, whereas her father is Spanish-Filipino. The brunette is a middle child, and although her older brother prefers to stay out of the spotlight, the starlet previously shared that her younger sister is named Alyssa.

After matriculating from Immaculate Conception Academy, Ashley took a lengthy hiatus from her studies so as to focus on her showbiz career, which was already in full swing. However, the “My Destiny” star is aware of the importance of having a backup plan, and is believed to have been studying interior design at SoFA Design Institute since 2022.

Career: 2010s

Fans of Ashley believed that she was always destined for greatness: at just four years old, the San Fernando native started figure skating, and would eventually compete in Malaysia, Thailand, and other countries. Aged 12, she did her first commercial work for GMA Network, transitioning naturally into minor TV roles just a couple of years later. In 2014, the then-adolescent was also crowned Ms. Oliva-C Campus Model of the year.

Ashley’s first TV gig was a recurring role as Marian Dela Guardia in the Filipino drama series “Cielo de Angelina”, which ran from 2012 to 2013. The next year, she shone with her portrayal of Rose Angeles in the edgy drama-thriller “Dormitoryo”, which remains one of her standout projects to date.

2014 was a busy year for Ashley as she guest-starred in “Magpakailanman”, depicted Alex Martinez in the drama romance “My Destiny”, and played a young Regina Ilustre in “Paraiso Ko’y Ikaw”. Over the years, the actress has portrayed different characters in at least eight episodes “Magpakailanman”, a long-running anthology series which premiered in 2007 and focuses on real-life situations.

Shortly before landing her first protagonist role, Ashley brought the charismatic Angeli Realonda to life in “Kailan Ba Tama ang Mali?”. Her impressive performance led to her winning a coveted spot as a main cast member in “InstaDad”, which premiered in April 2015 on GMA Network. Unfortunately for Ashley and her “InstaDad” co-stars, the series was a colossal failure, with average episode ratings of 10% or lower. Unsurprisingly, it was replaced by “Alamat” after just 13 episodes.

Nevertheless, Ashley continued to win roles thanks to her on-screen presence and natural charm. After playing Wendy Schmitt in the romantic drama “Dangwa” and portraying different characters in the beloved anthology series “Maynila”, the actress began filming for “Wish I May” and “Oh My Mama”, in which she played Eunice Montes and Ariana Gutierrez respectively.

By 2017, the Filipina was an established celebrity with an impressive acting resume; however, her co-hosting gig on the daytime show “Wowowin” certainly helped raise her profile even more. In the same year, Ashley played Gesielle in “Wish Ko Lang”, Cheska in “Dear Uge”, and Sarah in “Daig Kayo ng Lola Ko”.

Nearing the end of the decade, Ashley scored her second protagonist role in “Super Ma’am”, in which she played Maureen and Kristy Garcia. Keeping up with her winning streak, shortly afterwards the actress was cast as the anti-hero Lindsay Alvarez in “Sahaya”.

Ashley’s contract with GMA Networks has been nothing short of lucrative, as from 2012 to 2018, the brunette appeared in four GMA Films productions: “Bamboo Flowers”, “My Big Bossing”, “Spirit of the Glass 2: The Haunted”, and “Wild and Free”.

Career: 2020s

We may not even be halfway through the 2020s yet, but even so, Ashley has appeared in over a dozen shows. Following an episodic appearance in “Eat Bulaga!”, the longest-running noontime variety series in the country, the actress did an excellent job at portraying main antagonist Marriam Pabil-Delos Reyes in “Legal Wives”.

Perhaps having found her calling at playing villainous roles after so many years, Ashley would then depict the main anti-hero in “Widows’ Web”. For the rest of 2022, she stuck to guest-starring gigs in shows such as “Tadhana”, “Daig Kayo ng Lola Ko”, and “Magpakailanman”.

Starting off 2023 on strong footing, Ashley thrilled viewers with a protagonist role as Pauline Bravo in “Hearts on Ice”, following it up by reprising her “Widows’ Web” character, Jacqueline, in the crossover show “Royal Blood”. Since then, the San Fernando native has filmed two roles: one as a car show girl in the drama thriller “Black Rider”, and another as Manuela in the upcoming series “Pulang Araw”.

Thanks to the rise of social media, Ashley has also found a new revenue stream as an influencer with over 580,000 followers on Instagram. Some of the brands the brunette works with include Shop Corso Como, Lazada Fashion, and Uni Silver Jewelry; although the actress mainly collaborates with apparel and jewelry companies, she has also branched out into doing skincare ad campaigns and partnerships with hotels.

Personal Life

Ashley’s weight is unknown, but according to official sources, she is 5ft 6in (168cm) tall with vital statistics of 32-25-34.

From 2020 to 2022, the “Dormitoryo” starlet was in a committed relationship with Mark Alcala, who is known for his political career as the mayor of Lucena City. According to a GMA Network-endorsed article, the actress was ‘really happy’ and had already recovered from the breakup just months later.

Ashley confirmed the news during an interview on the “Updated with Nelson Canlas” podcast, and denied that there were any third parties involved. The topic also came up on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda”, with the actress explaining: ‘He was the newly elected mayor, I was busy with work…’ and adding that the lack of communication and connection had been the reason for their shock split.

Although there are no hard feelings, that doesn’t mean that Ashley and Mark have remained friends. Since breaking up, they have yet to see or speak to each other. Some netizens speculate that Mark was encouraged to distance himself from Ashley due to the image-conscious nature of his political career; however, there is no definitive proof of this.
