Who is Morgan Macgregor?

Morgan Macgregor was born in Whitby, Ontario, Canada, in 1987 – she hasn’t shared her exact date of birth with the public, but her zodiac sign is believed to be Virgo, and she holds Canadian nationality. She’s a book critic and reviewer, but who’s perhaps known best for being the wife of the American actor and musician Michael C. Hall.

Early life and education

Morgan was raised in Whitby by her parents about whom nothing’s known, because she respects their privacy; however, some fans believe that her father was a fisherman, and her mother was a cook. Morgan hasn’t spoken of having any siblings, and is thus believed to be an only child.

Morgan was around 11 years old when she became passionate about reading books, and has since read hundreds. Morgan met Michael in August 2012, and they began dating a couple of days later; the two were seen together for the first time at the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards on 23 September 2012.

They exchanged vows at New York City Hall on 29 February 2016, in a private ceremony attended by only the closest of their friends and family members. Morgan and Michael don’t have children together, and while this is believed to be because they both want to focus on their careers, there are some of their fans who claim that perhaps one of the two is infertile.

He married the American actress and singer Amy Spanger in 2002, but they divorced in 2006. Michael Carlyle Hall was born in Raleigh, North Carolina USA, on 1 February 1971 – his zodiac sign is Aquarius, and he holds American nationality. He’s an actor, film producer and director, who’s appeared in close to 50 movies and TV series, probably known best for his portrayal of the lead character Dexter Morgan in the mystery crime series “Dexter”.

It was created by James Manos Jr., also starred Jennifer Carpenter and David Zayas, and follows Dexter who’s solving crimes during the day, while committing them at night; the series aired from 2006 to 2013 and won 57 awards, including four Primetime Emmys, while it was nominated for 196 other awards.

Michael was raised in Raleigh as an only child, by his father William Carlyle Hall who worked at IBM as a systems engineer manager, and his mother Janice (nee Styons) who worked at Lees-McRae College as a mental health counselor. His father died from prostate cancer when Michael was 11.

Michael studied at Ravenscroft School, from which he matriculated in 1989, and he then enrolled at the liberal arts Earlham College, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in 1993.

He initially wanted to become a lawyer, but went on to enroll at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in acting in 1996.

Michael spent the following three years appearing in theatre plays, before making his debut TV series appearance in a 1999 episode of the romantic drama “As the World Turns”, while he made his debut film appearance in the 2003 action science fiction mystery “Paycheck”. In 2009, Michael played Ken Castle in the popular science fiction action thriller movie “Gamer”, and his next major role was in 2014, when he starred as Dane in the crime thriller movie “Cold in July”, written and directed by Jim Mickle, and which also starred Sam Shepard and Don Johnson. It follows a protective father and a former convict who have to work together to survive; the movie won one of the nine awards for which it was nominated.

Some of Michael’s most recent roles have been in eight episodes of the 2020 thriller series “The Defeated”, the 2021 horror thriller movie “John and the Hole”, and 10 episodes of the mystery crime mini-series “Dexter: New Blood” in 2021 and 2022.

Michael has won 13 of the 72 awards for which he has been nominated, including seven Primetime Emmy nominations, six for his performance in “Dexter” and one for “Six Feet Under”. He was also nominated for five Golden Globe Awards for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Drama for “Dexter”, winning one in 2010.

It was revealed on 13 January 2010 that Michael was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and had undergone chemotherapy; the cancer was gone by late April that year.
