Who is Mark Deklin?
Mark Scott Deklin was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania USA on 3 Dec,ember 1967 – his zodiac sign is Sagittarius, and he holds American nationality. Mark’s an actor, stuntman and fight co-ordinator, with close to 100 acting credits to his name, while he’s probably known best for his portrayal of Jack Bowman in the action mystery series “Designated Survivor”, created by David Guggenheim, and which starred Kiefer Sutherland, Adan Canto and Italia Ricci. The series follows a Cabinet member who’s about to become President of the United States of America, it aired from 2016 to 2019, and won three of the six awards for which it was nominated.
There are rumors circulating the internet, claiming that Mark has retired from acting, but these have been proven false, as he’s still quite active in the film industry, and has just recently in early 2022 has finished shooting for the upcoming comedy movie “Bleecker”.
Early life and education
Mark was raised in Pittsburgh by his parents, about whom only little is known because he respects their privacy; his father was apparently also an actor, thus Mark’s initial interest in it, and his mother was a model. He hasn’t spoken of having any siblings, and because of this is believed to be an only child.
Mark studied at Thomas Jefferson High School, and was mostly into playing sports during his four years there, playing both football and baseball, while occasionally acting with the school’s drama club.
Mark matriculated in 1986, and then began attending Pennsylvania State University, from which he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and history in 1990.
He continued his education at the University of Washington in Seattle, graduating with a Master of Fine Arts degree in acting in 1992.
Around eight years later, Mark became a certified member of the Society of American Fight Directors.
Roles in TV series
Mark spent the first decade of his career appearing solely in off-Broadway and Broadway plays, and he made his debut TV series appearance in a 1999 episode of the soap opera “Guiding Light”.
The 2000s saw Mark appear in an episode or two of various series, including the comedy “Hot Properties”, the mystery crime drama “CSI: NY” and the mystery comedy drama “Desperate Housewives”, but had no lead roles. He gained recognition in 2012, when cast to star as Blake Reilly, alongside Leslie Bibb and Jennifer Aspen, in the comedy drama “GCB”. It follows a widowed mother who has moved to Dallas with her children, and the series was nominated for three awards.
Mark’s also popular for his portrayal of Nicholas Deering in the mystery comedy drama “Devious Maids”, created by Marc Cherry, and which starred Ana Ortiz, Dania Ramirez and Roselyn Sanchez. It follows the lives of four Latina maids, aired from 2013 to 2016, and won two of the 16 awards for which it was nominated.
Some of his most recent roles in TV series have been in the 2019 episode “Hannah Hayes (No. 125)” of the mystery crime drama “The Blacklist”, two episodes of the mystery crime drama “Blue Bloods” in 2020, and two episodes of the crime drama “The Good Fight” in 2021.
Roles in movies
Mark made his debut film appearance with his portrayal of Captain Galasso in the 2005 action science fiction drama “Tides of War”, then followed in the same year in the family adventure comedy “Herbie Fully Loaded”, the 2006 crime comedy drama “Mini’s First Time”, and the 2007 comedy “Never Say Macbeth”.
He portrayed the lead character Sam Clemens in the 2010 fantasy action drama “Riverworld”, directed by Stuart Gillard, and which also starred Tahmoh Penikett and Peter Wingfield.
The film revolves around the city Riverworld to which people go after they die, and it was nominated for five awards. Mark was then invited to play lead characters in a couple of films, such as the 2011 comedy “Family Album”, the 2015 romantic science fiction thriller “The Answer” and the 2017 family comedy drama “Switched for Christmas”.
Most recently, in 2021 he starred as Eric Baker in the romantic drama “Sister Swap: A Hometown Holiday”, directed by Sean McNamara, and which also starred Kimberly Williams-Paisley and Susan Yeagley; the movie follows two sisters who have gone on vacation.
Mark has voiced characters in various video games, including Major Gerald Ingram in the 2006 “Call of Duty 3”, Deimos in the 2008 “God of War: Chains of Olympus” and Soldier in the 2010 “Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker”.

He began dating the American theater actress and singer-songwriter Jamie Karen Goldberg sometime in the first half of the 2000s, after the two had been introduced by a mutual friend. They married in October 2006, in a private ceremony attended by only the closest of their friends and family members. Mark and Jamie have two children together, whom they are keeping away from the media’s attention so that they can lead normal lives.
Neither has mentioned any other people whom they have perhaps been with, so as of March 2022, Mark’s married to Jamie Karen Goldberg, and they have two children.

Mark can play several instruments, and spent some time working as a jazz pianist at a bar in Vienna, Austria. He has been a member of three bands, joining his first band Rampage when he was 13.
He’s physically highly active, and while he has multiple training sessions at the gym every week, Mark prefers to take part in outdoor activities, such as horseback riding and rock climbing – he’s broken every right hand finger at least once.
