The Net Worth of Brian Quinn

How rich is Brian Quinn? As of late-2018, sources inform us of a net worth that is over $500,000, earned largely through a successful career in comedy and on television. He’s worked on “Impractical Jokers” since 2011, leading to various spin-off projects and collaborations. As he continues his career, it is expected that his wealth will also continue to increase.

Early Life and Education

Brian is of Irish and Italian ancestry. At a young age, he developed a strong interest in acting, and wanted to pursue it as a career as seen with his decisions at school. He attended Monsignor Farrell High School where he  participated in sports as well as drama, being cast in school musicals such as “Godspell”, “On the Town”, “Bye Bye Birdie”, and “Meet Me in Saint Louis” which is based on the 1940s musical of the same name, following the story of a family living in St. Louis.

He also played a lot of soccer with his school’s team, as he is a fan of the sport and especially a big fan of Manchester United; he figured that if acting would not work out for him, he might actually become a professional soccer player. After matriculating from high school, he enrolled into Brooklyn College, but his path to acting didn’t pan out as he intended, and instead he focused on his comedy group called The Tenderloins of which he is a founding member. The group began sometime in high school, and the name was thought out by the group as it is silly yet can make people uncomfortable, describing their group accurately.

A Solo Career

After graduating, Quinn began working as a firefighter in New York City, serving for the next eight years while also looking for acting opportunities. In 1996 he made his professional acting debut in the film “Warshots” which focuses on the life of a war photographer, and led him to appearances in more films such as “Dogma” and “Big Helium Dog”. In 2000, he worked on the film “Vulgar”, following the titular character clown who appeared in the View Askew Productions log, and also features other characters from the View Aksew Productions.

Impractical Jokers

In 2012, Brian reunited with his friends for a television project, after finding a lot of success doing live improvisational comedy and stand-up performances. The group won a live improv competition called “It’s Your Show” which earned them a $100,000 grand prize, helping to fund the creation of their own show – they originally made a scripted pilot for Spike TV but it was not picked up.

The subsequent show was called “Impractical Jokers”, and followed the group as they provoke each other into performing public pranks, while being filmed by hidden cameras; unlike other hidden camera comedy programs, the show focuses on witty humor instead of slapstick., The group realized that scripts would not work, and that a hidden camera show would be better to help draw out the natural comedy of the characters. When they pitched the show, it was only recorded through their iPhones, but it was picked up for a one season of 16 episodes showing from 2011 to 2012, and proved successful so more seasons followed. In one episode, the pranksters explain what their challenge is and what will happen if they fail that challenge. The location is set in a public area in or around New York City, and at the end of the episode, the joker with the most failures is punished, which usually consists of something more embarrassing than previously.

Success of “Impractical Jokers”

The show has been received well by both critics and television viewers, and has maintained its strong viewers rating since its premiere. It has spawned several spin-offs, including “Impractical Jokers: Jokers Wild” which does more skits as opposed to live interaction, and “Impractical Jokers: Inside Jokes”, which airs previous episodes with various pop-up facts. Their third spin-off is “Impractical Jokes: After Party” which features surprise guests and more challenging pranks.

In 2018 after a renewal of the show for an eighth season, a film began development, produced by Funny or Die, and has been under production since early in the year.

Personal Life

For his personal life, it is known that Quinn was romantically involved with Emily Amick, a former make-up artist on “Impractical Jokers”. After public appearances, and even rumors that they were engaged, things ended after it was discovered that Amick was having an affair with another man, whom she would later marry. Quinn often jokes that he is the only one among his group of friends who is not married, and describes it as weird. Since his failed relationship with Amick, there have been no reports of any new relationships. He continues to act, and takes other acting projects aside from his work with “Impractical Jokers”.
