Born in Miami, Kat had lived in Tampa her entire life. As she affirmed in an interview with the Tampa Bay Times, she thought that the city was ‘a paradise’ while growing up, describing it as a city but ‘also a small town’ where she feels at home, despite having visited many other places.
According to Kat’s LinkedIn, she graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in English Language and Literature in 2017. She then worked at a Florida-based research center, while also attending law school, as she had wanted to have a career which her parents ‘would admire’, just as she told HGTV in 2021.
