Who is Brian Tovar?
American singer-songwriter of Mexican descent Brian Tovar, was born under the zodiac sign Libra on 8 October 2003. He’s widely known for being a founding member of the regional Mexican music group Eslabon Armado; Brian, his brother Pedro and their friend Gabriel Hidalgo launched the group in 2017, however, Gabriel’s since left and Ulises Gonzalez and Damien Pacheco have joined. They’ve released six albums, and are mostly popular in Latin America.
Education and early life
Brian was raised in Los Angeles, California alongside his brother Pedro, by their parents about whom the boys prefer not to speak in public, but it’s known that it was their father who named their group, while their mother became their manager.
Brian became passionate about music at a very early age, and was only 10 when he performed in front of a crowd for the first time. His music group was launched even before he turned 14 and enrolled at local high school; it wasn’t easy for Brian to both attend school and remain active with the group, but he still managed as he didn’t want to be home-schooled.
He matriculated in 2022, and then remained focused on singing rather than pursuing a college degree.

Following the founding of their group, the trio, all of them teenagers, began studying and playing sierreño music; they also occasionally performed other regional Mexican genres, including norteño. They gained attention after they started posting videos featuring them performing live onto YouTube and TikTok; the boys were eventually ‘discovered’ by agent Angel del Villar and were signed to DEL Records in 2018.
The following year saw them release their debut extended play (EP) “Navegando y Flotando”, and in 2020, they released their first two singles “La Trokita” and “Con Tus Besos”, both of which charted on Hot Latin Songs. On 6 April 2020, Eslabon Armado released their debut studio album “Tu Veneno Mortal”, and it was followed by “Vibras de Noche” on 17 July 2020; both were certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and both topped the Regional Mexican Albums chart, while the latter also topped the Top Latin Albums chart.

On 18 December 2020, Eslabon Armado released their third studio album “Corta Venas”; it was a huge hit, and was certified eight times platinum by RIAA, while it also topped Regional Mexican Albums. It was after the release of this album that Gabriel chose to leave the group.
On 25 June 2021, Eslabon Armado released their fourth album “Tu Veneno Mortal, Vol. 2”, and Ulises Gonzalez joined them in September of the same year. The group’s song “Jugaste y Sufri”, which they recorded in collaboration with Dannylux reached #69 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart; the same year saw Eslabon Armado win two Billboard Latin Music Awards, for Regional Mexican Album of the Year and Duo/Group Top Latin Albums Artist of the Year, and they also won two Latin American Music Awards.
Damian Pacheco joined them in January 2022, and their fifth album “Nostalgia” was released on 5 May 2022; just as their previous four, “Nostalgia” toped the Regional Mexican Albums chart, while it also reached #9 on Billboard 200. This was a huge achievement as it was the first time for a regional Mexican album to reach top 10 on the chart.
Eslabon Armado released the single “Ella Baila Sola” in collaboration with famous Mexican singer Peso Pluma in March 2023; it became a hit on the social media network TikTok, which led it to peak at #4 on Billboard Hot 100, becoming the first regional Mexican single to reach top 10 on this chart. The hit was also special for another reason, as it topped Hot Latin Songs, becoming Eslabon Armado’s first number-one single.
Their sixth studio album “Desvelado” was released on 28 April 2023 and reached #6 on Billboard 200. The group collaborated with Mexican singer-songwriter Gabriel ‘Gabito’ Ballesteros Abril on the song “La Fresa”, released in October 2023, and they sang the song together on the critically acclaimed “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on 25 October.

Brian avoids sharing the details of his love life with his fans, which is why various rumors have been started on the internet, concerning his sexual orientation and past and present relationships.
Some of Brian’s fans believe that he’s today in a relationship with his high school sweetheart and that he prefers to keep her away from the media’s attention because of how his newfound fame might affect them both; this hasn’t been confirmed by Brian.
There are also some who believe him to be gay, claiming that this is why Brian shies away from talking about his love life but this hasn’t been confirmed either.
Brian seems to be unattached as of February 2024, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.

He’s become passionate about travelling as his career’s taken him all around the US, as well as to a couple of South American countries; it’s believed that Brian’s yet to travel to Europe, and that his dream travel destination’s Spain.
He’s a huge lover of animals and his favorites are dogs; Brian’s family had several pet cats and dogs while he was growing up.
